Performance.
If I had to describe the Cobra AEROJET in three words, it would be speed, speed and even more speed.
Seriously, Cobra aims at delivering high-tech speed technology.
The Cobra AEROJET enables faster ball speeds off the tee. Compared to the LTDx drive you can expect about an additional 7 yards longer, due to the low spin rate properties.
In terms of forgiveness, the AEROJET is extremely comparable to the LTDx. If you’re having issues with a slice, we recommend the AEROJET Max because of its draw-bias design.
Appearance.
The Cobra AEROJET model stands out from the LTDx model due to notable differences in both design and color scheme, which I find appealing.
The Cobra AEROJET driver deviates from its predecessors by presenting a single color scheme, dominated by black with hints of red, blue, and white. Although having a consistent design theme is commendable, it would have been more customer-friendly to provide additional color options.
BUT the biggest difference is the Cobra AEROJET driver doesn’t have the Milled-CNC infinity on the club face. Definitely not ideal, but it is what it is. The Cobra AEROJET implemented a new circular sweet spot.
On the other hand, I appreciate the look and texture of the glossy carbon crown which contrasts nicely with the satin black body.
I love the look and texture of the glossy carbon crown, which contrasts with the satin black body. While the angled part of the crown near the hosel adds a stylish touch to the driver’s design, I think it might create a visual distraction when positioned behind the ball.
The driver’s sole has a vintage and outdated look that doesn’t appeal to me much, except for the carbon fiber textured area. Additionally, a 12 removable g weight is placed towards the back of the sole.
Sound & Feel.
When using the AEROJET, you can expect a really satisfying “crack” sound when it hits its target, just like with the LTDx driver. However, some people may find that the AEROJET’s sound is a bit louder and has more of a reverberating effect.
Hitting the sweet spot with the AEROJET feels super stable during impact, which is satisfying. Even when you don’t hit the sweet spot perfectly, it still feels pretty good and better than the LTDx. I think the feedback you get from the AEROJET driver is just about right for its place in the product lineup.
One of the great things about the AEROJET is that it offers good feedback, which is important when trying to improve your game. You want to be able to feel the impact of the ball on the driver and know whether you hit it well or not.
The feedback you get from the AEROJET is just about right for its place in the product lineup. It’s not too much, which can be overwhelming, but it’s also not too little, which can make it hard to know how to improve your swings.
Overall, the AEROJET is a great choice for anyone looking for a high-performance driver that provides stability, feedback, and a satisfying feel when hitting the sweet spot. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just starting, the AEROJET can help you take your game to the next level.
Features and Benefits.
ADVANCED AERODYNAMIC SHAPING
To improve a golf club’s performance, a seamless aerodynamic design incorporates a raised skirt, symmetrical shape, and streamlined edges, resulting in reduced drag and faster clubhead speed.
PWR-BRIDGE WEIGHTING
By incorporating a suspended bridge weight design, the golf club’s face and sole can move more freely, and the center of gravity is positioned low and forward. Ultimately, this design results in increased ball speed.
PWRSHELL WITH H.O.T FACE
The golf club utilizes a forged PWRSHELL face insert, which allows for maximum flexibility, resulting in higher launch and faster ball speed. Furthermore, the H.O.T Face design, which employs artificial intelligence to create a varying thickness pattern across the face, optimizes the efficiency of both speed and spin.
CARBON CROWN AND SOLE
A carbon fiber crown and sole create a lighter and stronger chassis and allow more weight to be positioned low in the club head for added stability.
ADJUSTABLE LOFT
The adjustable loft sleeve provides a means to finely adjust the trajectory and spin of a golf shot, with the ability to change the loft of the club up to a maximum of 1.5 degrees above or below the stated loft printed on the club head.
Shaft.
Stock shafts for the COBRA AEROJET driver family include:
- UST Helium (high launch)
- Mitusbishi Kai’Li Blue (the wheelhouse mid-launch shaft)
- Mitsubishi Kai’Li White (mid-low launch)
- HZRDUS Black (low launch)
What I Like/Dislike about Cobra Aerojet:
Like:
- Great sound and feel through impact
- Excellent distance
- Classic shape and modern aesthetics
- More speed than the LTDx
- Great spin consistency
- Consistent dispersion
Dislike:
- Visually not as exciting compared to the LTDx driver
- lower spin rate is not suitable for everyone
